Routes


Join hundreds of other riders in bicycling the rural Northern Neck, located between the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers. Never too far from water, the Northern Neck features quiet and picturesque roadways for cycling.

Various routes are available on the Northern Neck RiverRide, so that you select a ride that suits your prefence.

Choose From:

      English Century - 99.1 Miles

      Metric Century -  95.76 Kilometers (59.5) Miles

      One-Third Century - 28 Miles

      Family Route - 14 Miles 

     
All routes have fully-supported rest stops, route signage and SAG support. Routes open at 7:00 am and close at 5 pm.

The Northern Neck RiverRide Tour Guide that you receive at registration will have a detailed color map of the routes. Be sure to attend orientation when you arrive.

 


Orientation Sessions
Everyone is encouraged to attend orientation during registration hours. It will answer general questions about the Northern Neck RiverRide and will also cover the basics of safe cycling, especially in a large group. One of our primary goals is bicycling education and safety. Plan your arrival at registration to include ample time for an orientation.

Terrain and Bicycle
The Northern Neck is gently rolling. Either road bikes, hybrids, or mountain bikes are suitable. Tandems are welcome. Make sure your bike is in good working order. Bike repair services will be available for a nominal charge. Remember, for your safety, helmets are required for all riders.
